freeglass GmbH & Co. KG was founded in 2001 as a joint venture between Saint-Gobain Sekurit and the former Schefenacker AG, after the first plastic glazing parts had been developed together and produced since 1998. In 2007, freeglass became a 100% subsidiary of Saint-Gobain.
